Yuk resonator.  I would replace it with a magnaflow.  This will reduce the chance of a blown head gasket.
The 5.4 swap has been called a bad idea, and considered an underpowered considerable waste of time, since 2007.

Nice to see that most donít think that anymore.

Yeah eventually I plan to, for now the mufflers will come off. Money is a big factor here so I'm getting the essentials done first

He also says get rid of the stock resonator.  Less back pressure on the engine saves head gaskets.

Here's an album I made of the repair. I basically took a picture after every day we worked on it so there's not too many of them. It drive's beautifully.

Let me know what you think!

It is time........

In the past two days I've been offered free labor and a wallet-saving discount. My buddy at ATC talked to his instructor and they are going to be working on manual transmissions for the next four weeks. He asked if they would work on my car and he said Yes. Another friend of mine is able to get a dealer discount on a spec stage 1 clutch and flywheel and I am going to get a master and slave cylinder from the rockauto specials. It's like everything just fell in to place and they are going to work on it the week i am in OBX. The only thing I need to find is synchros and sliders. I was told SouthernGear.com was the place to call, but I was wondering if you guys has other places? I am trying to get them this week.

I'm so excited!

Macks Transmissions was no help at all. SouthernGear said $275 for the synchro kit

Sounds like a good price.

Do not forget the throw out bearing.

Here is a link to instructions:
http://www.tccoa.com/articles/mn12how-to/m5r2_rebuild/m5r2-rebuild-howto.html

Do not trust everything you see there.  The 4R70W article was full of errors.

Oh, I forgot to mention.  :freddie: is a great guy but he is a train wreck when he works on my car.  He picks at my rust holes, peels my black tape off behind the door C-Pillar and likest to start fires.  But when supervised and a local fire extinguisher is handy, he does great work.  Just gotta love good old FF.

So I bagged the last plan. When I'm back from vacation I'm putting the car as high as it'll go on jack stands and dropping the trans. I'm doing the Spec Stage 1 clutch and Spec Flywheel and new Master and Slave Cylinders and Ford oem synchros [carbon fiber lined]. Hopefully I'll find someone who can replace the synchros

There is a 94/95 5-speed for sale in PA on Ebay for $350. here.

I think it will fit.  All I know is this:
Transmission: 5-Speed Manual Shift (M5R2)
 Gear ratios (89-93):
 5th (0.75)
 4th (1.00)
 3rd (1.43)
 2nd (2.32)
 1st (3.75)

 Gear ratios (94-95):
 5th (0.75)
 4th (1.00)
 3rd (1.34)
 2nd (2.16)
 1st (3.42)

The price is attractive enough, if it is working, to get.  It should fit.  What's the worse you swap some exterior parts?

That is a good deal, but it's a lot more than a few synchros  ::) I like the idea of having all parts match the car too

Really $350 is not expensive compared to all the frustration.  Doing the work is not easy.  It will be better to buy this one and play with the old one at your leisure.  This is a hard to find transmission.  It is worth the price if it works as advertised.
