Took the 5.4L to Second Street Speed Today
« on: June 01, 2011, 08:09:06 PM »
Today I visited Lon at Second Street Speed.  It has been a while since I was there.  When I left I had a radiator problem that I solved with a multi-core Griffin radiator and a set of poly differential bushings to rid myself of clucking.

I asked Lon at Second Street Speed to rid me of the stock transmission tune and give me one like I had with the 95 Cougar.  I gave him some of the major data and he went to work.

When I left I felt the difference.  Now She is all She can be!

On the way home  I went to the Perk for some of their famous perigees.  Then I hit the road...

A ricer raced behind me at a light looking all tuff.  It was hot and after all it was a ricer so I left the AC on.  Gotta keep cool!

He took off at the light kinda reminding me of dirty dogs attempt at immortality.  Then I took off, immediately passed him by one car length, two...  Ah heck truck length then two...  Then he faded away in the rear view mirror.

I pulled up to a light and stopped and just like dirty :dog: he was still doing all he can roaring up on my stopped car.  Then he pulled in the left lane and turned off...

Not even a challenge...  Oh well, so it is when you have a hot rod Mercury!
The 5.4 swap has been called a bad idea, and considered an underpowered considerable waste of time, since 2007.

Nice to see that most donít think that anymore.
