Tstats
« on: November 20, 2006, 12:45:32 AM »
OK here's a little on my ride I have a 97 Cougar RX7 Alpine Green currently with a 4.6L SOHC since I've owned it my son has cracked it up three times all minor except for the last one in the spring when he went under a SUV and took out the hood. So I decided that I was going to get a cowl hood so I got the Fiber Concepts Ram Air hood. I recently purchased a 1998 4.6L DOHC from a Mark VIII Tedskid blockbut still making decisions on how I will billed this motor. I put in a new Eclipse CD4000 head unit with Infinity speaker all around. There is still more to come.
97 - 4.6L Alpine Green Cougar XR-7 w/ Fiber Concepts Hood, SPC cold air intake, 2.5 SLP Dual Exhaust, Eclipse CD4000 w/ Polk's speakers, Koni Shocks, 11/4" Addco sway bars, and Vogtland more to come.

I got it from Rob at Fiber Concepts it's the same hood as J. but mine has the vents cut out and when Junior had the the accident I took off the whole noseand had the paint shop paint it all together, bumper cover, two fenders, and the hood but the car will be going in for paint when the engine is changed.

It is the same hood but I need paint!!   :eatar:
The 5.4 swap has been called a bad idea, and considered an underpowered considerable waste of time, since 2007.

Nice to see that most donít think that anymore.

There is nothing wrong with the open scoops just when you open the hood some water pours threw the scoops and on to the coil packs. I would like to make the scoop functional. Since I put the SCP intake on the car has been a fair weather driver. Since I do not have a car port or a garage I got a car cover to protect the car for the winter.

Well since Tstat was broken into and my Eclipse CD-4000 radio was broken cause they could not get it out of the dash I must of got the stupid thief cause he broke the motorized face plate. I have decided that I'm having an alarm installed this also reduces the insurance cost I have a company that put the alarm into my Expy which makes house calls and since I was have them come out to service the Expy they going to install a Code Alert system with remote start figured I might as well the price was the same with or without. The only reason it's the same price is the remote start uses the receiver of the alarm system to operate the system.

It's a good news The radio that I thought was junk after a the jerk that tried to steal it couldn't get it out of the radio din anti theft system. For once I installed it by the instruction I even had a hard time getting the unit myself. I gave the radio to a friend of mine that I went to school with and owns Array Company he had it fixed for me. I installed the radio back into the car and it is just like new. Dan is going to set up a system for my Cougar using my current head unit. I still have to replace the center section of my console.

Well I'm getting a little board so I decided that I would do some work on the Cougar. I decided that I am going to put gas lift supports to support the rear deck lid since it has a spoiler and a slight breeze closes it on your head at the most inopportune time. I will do a tech article with pics I will post the strut size and extension and location of the struts.

Well some one wanted a trophy. I went out today because it was warm and I was board so I wanted to work on the Cougar. When I went to open the trunk when I noticed my vanity plate was gone. I called my son and asked him if he removed it but he said he didn't so I had to call the police and report the plate as stolen the front plate was destroyed when Junior cracked up the car last spring. So I have to pick up the police report on Monday and then go to the registry for new plates the cop was not sure if they would issue the same plates. Well surveillance cameras going up to cover the driveway.
