Ford HySeries Edge Hydrocell technology for the future!
« on: April 03, 2007, 09:01:39 PM »
The Ford HySeries Edge, the world’s first working plug-in, fuel-cell, hydrogen-powered car, which the Detroit automaker planned to show off as a concept at the New York auto show. The realities of a hydrogen-powered automotive experience, is that you will be able to drive a car running on advanced hydrogen fuel-cell technology that can power itself with a 336-volt battery pack.

Now there’s plenty of work to be done on lithium-ion battery development and building up hydrogen service stations across the country!!!

What is an old hot rodder going to do without gas???

The 5.4 swap has been called a bad idea, and considered an underpowered considerable waste of time, since 2007.

Nice to see that most don’t think that anymore.

Without gas ? I've always had plenty of gas! :D
Seriously; the thing is there are fuel cells available that use gas, kerosene and alcohol to get the  hydrogen, and they still get twice the absolute utilization of energy realized with internal combustion from the same amount of fuel.....
The 336 volt thingy is a tad high for any vehicle I wanna ride in as its an accident waiting to happen.. the hybrids now are a problem when an accident occurs . the responders havent figured out exactly how to respond safely yet, go figure. But, Hey! we are on our way to figuring out energy alternatives.

I have to agree with :jake: it still takes more energy to make the large amounts of hydrogen needed to currently run an automobile. There has to be something in it for the oil companies.
