The front tires can not be too fat and are limited by the wheel well. I keep the width in the front to 225 -245. The rear tires can be as wide as 255!
Smaller is better for the front. I looked at several tires and you will be limited in the front by your rim width of 9". This will force you to have a wider tire in the front than stock. I do not believe that a 225 will fit on a 9" rim. You need at least 235 wide!

The number above is the difference from stock from my old car. You should do the same for your tires.
I recommend selecting a pair where the rears were slightly higher or equal to the front tire height.
