Progress of a sort
« on: April 27, 2007, 01:28:08 AM »
At the Thursday nite car show, I had a few nibbles on the Big bird... One guy coming over Sunday with his wife to get more details... see if SHE will ok it. :-\...
Meanwhile; I saw my neighbor with the Caddy I want ... he hadda long face, as he turned 60,000 mi. on it, and the dealer replaced the plugs and wires, and some other putzy part.(PVC valve?).... over $600  & the plugwires were $265 alone, and he was baffled by that. :o.. I explained that they used a waste spark system similar to our beloved fords, the wires hadda be ultra high quality and generally didnt last much more than 50K, but that particular "stealership"juust might be a tad heavy with the pencil???  :D :) Anyhow ,he seems more oriented to getting something smaller, cheaper, soon.... Maybe I will score that one , which is one of the nicest I have ever seen..... ( really wanna tear into one of those Nordstars before I die ;) :o 8)

Me too, but its not dignified enough for her.  She was riding with her ears plugged yesterday when we went to get her car outa the tranny shop.....Really mad when a few people looked over with shock and awe at Big bird as they went by . Thing is, I know she wont give me cookies and kisses  when I sell it for her....

Well I say unless your going to give it up for a Nordstar I would keep it till then not because she wants you to. I've been on that trip before only to end up on the short end of the stick.

Not just any car has a 8 point roll bar, and a 5 point safety harness like big bird....Its probably the safest car I will ever own, LOL

Did you guys ever hear the fast :freddie: story?  He was driving his Thunderbird at a really fast speed down the highway.  He lost control, flipped it.  He opened the door and walked away.  The firemen told him if he was in any other car he would be dead.  This is why he is so dedicated to the cars.  A MN12 is one of the safest cars on the road.  You have a much better chance of living through an accident with one of those cars vs a Stang!  So tell your Wife's that story!!!!

The 5.4 swap has been called a bad idea, and considered an underpowered considerable waste of time, since 2007.

Nice to see that most donít think that anymore.

It happened in 1992 or somewhere around that time?

All that is left of that car is the hood on the out house...
