1990 35th Anniversary SC
« on: June 24, 2007, 05:03:45 PM »
A friend is selling this car.  He put in about 100 hours to fix it.  The title is clean.  It ran good for a day but when they moved it out for me to take pictures it stalled.  They suspect that the spark plug wires are not in all the way???  The ABS light is on (that will need to be fixed).  The fog lights do not work.  Some stuff that was replaced:

Fuel pump
Spark plugs & wires
Many wires removed and cleaned.

Dennis is asking $1,000 (610) 767-0824.  The car is in Danielsville, PA.

The 5.4 swap has been called a bad idea, and considered an underpowered considerable waste of time, since 2007.

Nice to see that most donít think that anymore.

This is the car where the guy asked all the questions on the phone.  He said he drove it around for a day with no problems.  He said it had some power... It is 40 min north of my place...   Do you want to inspect it? O0

Whelp...  I was told the car will be crushed in two weeks if no one wants it.

:freddie: made me look at the car and this is what I got:

The car was sitting for over a month.
When I opened the hood I found that the PVC valve was not connected so I fixed it.
It took a little to get her started but after She warmed up she did  not stall.
I had to add 1 quart of oil so there may be a leak.
The engine sounds good and She can burn rubber.
I checked the oil and transmission fluid and there is not a sign of bad head gaskets.
The automatic transmission seems to work good but I could not get her to highway speeds.
The ABS and brake light are on and the car sounds like it is running on bias tires going down the road and the brakes are weak.
There is a car cover and case.
Turn signals, brake lights, head lights and wipers work.
Power windows work.
Power mirrors work.
Radio works.
Car sets low to the ground,.  Suspension seems good but was not able to test at highway speeds.
AC and heat do not work - Did not see clutch engage.

His kid worked on the car and did not put everything back together.  Here is what I saw:
Horn did not work and when I removed the cover there was no air bag.  I am not sure if it had one in the first place.
Power seats do not work.
Back of mirror cover is in trunk.
Fuse box cover is in trunk.
Windshield washer tank is in trunk.

Bla...  I am going to regret this one...   :P  When it came I put a car cover on it.  The next day we had a big ice storm and I had to wait a week to get to the car.  Then I caught a flu and missed a few more days.  Today I finally looked at her.

I pulled out the shop vacuum and cleaned up all the leaves and twirly gigs that seemed to collect under the hood, trunk and inside the doors.  Put the battery in her and fired her up.  It took about 15 min before I was able to let her idle on her own.  She wanted to stall and I had to wait until She was warm before I was able to let of the gas and let her idle on her own.  One of the tires was low on air and my 12v compressor died so I had to get a new one and fill up the low tire.  :-X

The first thing I checked was the alternator.  14 volts.  It works!  The ABS motor did not go on and there was power to the motor.  Bad news I need a new ABS motor.   :(  The air ride light blinked.  I guess I need to replace the air ride motors...  The battery negative ground wire is in bad shape and needs replacement.  There is lots of rust on the inside of the doors.  It is not rusted through there so it is a easy fix...  Power seats work now...

So :curley:, let me know when you will like to visit that SC you found in the junk yard.  It looks like I need to salvage me some SC parts...    :-[
