Low Budget Ford Escort Winterizing
« on: January 13, 2008, 08:53:40 AM »
When I purchased the car used I did not notice that the Cowl Grille was missing.  Last winter we had a storm and ice and snow ended up inside the large holes and prevented my windshield wipers from working.  So every year I have to do a little winterizing...   :lunie:

I place some duct tape on top.

Work duct tape from the front to the back.

Then fold over the top piece of duct tape.

Good to go for another year.

The 5.4 swap has been called a bad idea, and considered an underpowered considerable waste of time, since 2007.

Nice to see that most donít think that anymore.

Why don't you just go to a local pick and pay and get yourself the cowling. I no the duck tape is a universal tool but get the parts and fix it right and you wouldn't have to winterize the cowling. Also in the fall with all the leaves that where on your lawn last fall how many got into the cowling which will decay and mold making it unhealthy for the occupants.  :flam: :spank:
